The U.S. first and largest National Military Park features a Visitor Center with a short educational film about the battlefield, an extensive bookstore full of relevant information about the American Civil War, and a large map giving you the layout and placement of military movement during this 1863 battle. On your own take a 7-mile self-guided auto-tour using your cell phone to guide you through the park where you can see over 1,000 monuments, historical tablets, and scenic vistas. For the more adventurous there are hiking trails and horse trails throughout the park. Open Daily 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Handicapped Accessible.
