Chattanooga is home to plenty of high county history including 2 National Trail of Tears sites along with Ross’s Landing (named for Chief John Ross) and The Passage, a memorial to the tribes removed in 1836 on the Tennessee River. You’ll also find plenty of Civil War history including the start of the Chickamauga Campaign in September 1863 and the Battle Above the Clouds on Lookout Mountain in November 1863.
