Prater's Mill Foundation

The Prater's Mill Foundation, Inc. is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to education and historic preservation. It is located at the Historic Prater's Mill site north of Dalton, GA. in the Varnell area. Every fall, the foundation sponsors the Prater's Mill Country Fair, an outdoor festival filled with cultural traditions of Northwest Georgia. Visitors enjoy great Soutnern food, lively music, dance and handmade work of talented artists and craftsmen. In addition, the foundation created the Southern Appalachian Center at Hisotric Prater's Mill where Appalachian life is celebrated, studied and taught to new generations. The Prater's Mill Foundation is advised by the American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress.
