1. Downtown
Jasper The Old Pickens County Jail*, built in 1906, contain
relics from the past such as an authentic hangmans gallows. Jail
tours are available. The marble-facade County Courthouse features a
unique circular courtroom. The Woodbridge Inn is renowned for its fine
restaurant and comfortable accommodations dating back to 1880. Gift
shops and restaurants line Main Street. Take a drive through downtown
Jasper and view the large marble sculptures.
Annual Georgia Marble Festival & Fine Art & Sculpture Exhibit
1st weekend of October. Arts & Crafts, Marble Quarry tours,
music, carshow, and a roadrace.
Marble Museum Housed in the Chamber of Commerce building,
this interesting year round exhibit features examples of fine marble
and shows the history of marble mining in Pickens County.

Tate Community Tate is named for the pioneer family that
developed the marble industry in Pickens County. The Tate House* was
built in 1925 to showcase locally produced pink marble. Tours of the
Tate House are available. The Tate School is the nations only
marble elementary school. The Cagle House, built in the 1870s,
is still a bit of rural Georgia, where you can enjoy being treated as
a traditional house guest.
Marble Quarry The Georgia Marble Company, founded in 1884,
has supplied marble used in many famous buildings and monuments, including
the Lincoln Memorial. The worlds largest open pit marble quarries
are located in Tate and contain marble that varies in color from white
to grey, and pink. Quarry tours are available at the Marble Festival,
1st weekend of October.
3. Talking
Rock Heritage Days Festival 3rd weekend each October. Visit
an old fashioned General Store, and find antiques and gifts in shops
throughout the town.
4. Johns
Mill This circa 1900 water-run mill near Hinton features
an old stone dam, wooden flume, and log cabin housing the operational
stone grind mill. Open only on the weekends.

Burnt Mountain Overlook On Burnt Mtn. Road, this site offers
scenic vistas of Long Swamp Valley, Tate, Jasper, and Sharp Top Mtn.
Good Restaurants are nearby.
6. Artist-In-Residence
In above photo, Jaspers artist Eino is shown sculpting
a clay model that will be used in the creation of a bronze portrait
sculpture. His studio is available for public tours, at no charge. View
completed stone sculptures in the showroom, take a tour of the foundry,
